One of the traditions at Roasters Guild Retreat is that teams for the roasting challenge pick a team name. Every year I throw out the suggested name of “Team Sea Slug” to encourage the rest of the team to come up with a team name. One of these years that’s not going to work and Team Sea Slug will end up on the trophy. This is not that year. Several other names were thrown out, we voted on names, and toward the end of narrowing down the selection there were 6 votes for “Flying Down to Rio” and 6 votes for “Blazing Beans”, at which point I suggested “Flying Down to Rio on a Blazing Bean” which everybody liked well enough so I suspect we’ve won the competition for longest team name.

Every year my daughter and I rewatch all of Azumanga Daioh. Hearted for that and the fact I get the reference even without the video. I hope Team Sea Slug makes it on that trophy sometime.
